Vostok is a regional office of the International Movement for Leisure Activities in Science and Technology (MILSET), officially founded in 2014 to strengthen the development of youth engagement in science, technology and innovation across Eastern Europe and Central Asia. This regional branch brings together a group of territories that share strong historical, cultural and educational ties, including Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Uzbekistan and Tajikistan.The creation of MILSET Vostok responds to the need to build a stronger regional platform that connects national and local organisations, educational institutions, science clubs and youth initiatives with the global MILSET network. Its main objective is to promote MILSET’s mission, values and educational vision within its territories, while actively encouraging young people and organisations to participate in regional and international programmes, exchanges and events coordinated by MILSET.

MILSET Vostok plays a key role in coordinating and supporting local initiatives related to youth scientific, technological and creative activities throughout the region. This includes the development and organisation of regional events, science fairs, innovation programmes, training activities and capacity-building initiatives for member and partner organisations. At the same time, MILSET Vostok works to ensure strong representation and active participation of its territories in MILSET’s international activities, including international expos, assemblies, forums and collaborative projects. Through these efforts, MILSET Vostok contributes to building a dynamic regional ecosystem that empowers young people, strengthens cooperation between organisations, and fosters scientific curiosity, innovation, international understanding and cultural exchange across Europe and Asia.
