• The MILSET STEAM Photo Contest is ready to receive your photos and the theme is applied to all MILSET concepts: from the following subjects: Biology, Chemistry, Computing, Earth and applied sciences, Space sciences, etc.
• SPC can include macro, micro, nature, physics, and more.

• Youth between the age of 10 and 25 are eligible.
• MILSET global and regional members, non-members youth and their immediate family members can submit photos.

Each contestant may submit a maximum of two photos for judging; no more entry form may be submitted.

• Any photo that demonstrates a scientific concept, a scientific technological, engineering, or mathematical concept or phenomenon is eligible.
• Short description in English is mandatory (should describe what is observed or discovered).
• Photo must be from the sole work of the contestant.
• Photography copying from an image database on the internet (or another source) is not allowed.
• Photos made by adults (parents, friends, etc.) and/or with a robotic arm are not allowed.
• Photos that are made with a smartphone or digital camera are allowed.
• Inappropriate, insulting, sexist, or racist pictures are not allowed.
• Photos must not include copyrighted or trademarked materials (e.g., brand logos) unless permission is provided.

All photos must be submitted together with the completed online description form through the official submission platform.

• Name and surname
• Date of birth
• City and Country
• Email address
• School (if any), related to the project (Health Sciences, Pure & Applied Sciences, Marine Environment and Conservation, Engineering, Energy, or Robotics Applications, Space Science)
• Title of the photo and topic
• Short photo description in English (should describe what the submitter observed or discovered in the photo). The explanation should be understandable by non-specialists and the public. (Max 200 characters)

• Colour or Grayscale
• Minimum size: at least 2500 pixels wide
• Maximum file size: 10MB
• .jpeg, .png, .pdf, or .tif format

The submitted photos will be evaluated on a jury scale by a jury comprised of at least three (3) people. Selected photos will be the best of photography, STEAM, or nature in a suitable representation.

Jury members will be judging on:

• Eligibility, including all the photo submission guidelines
• Informational content, effectiveness of communicating the phenomenon or concept
• Technical photography factors, composition, lighting, and overall photo quality
• Artistic and visual impact: creativity, visual and emotional impact

A maximum of 3 pictures will be reviewed by the jury and receive an award.

• Prizes will be awarded to the three best photographs selected by the jury: First Place, Second Place, and Third Place. In addition, a special People’s Choice Award will be given to the photograph that receives the highest level of public appreciation.
• People in the award ceremony will be sent an e-mail

The results and awarded photos will be displayed:

• In the MILSET SPC Virtual Gallery on the MILSET website
• Best photos will be part of the MILSET STEAM Photo Contest programme highlights

• If your entry is selected as a winning photo, you give MILSET non-exclusive, worldwide rights to use your name and photo(s) for SPC-related communications and publications.
• This is royalty-free and you warrant that you hold the rights to grant MILSET permission and agree to hold MILSET harmless in any disputes that arise out of photo ownership rights.
• Photo copyright has to be the property of the contestant; even family members have to give permission in case of photos taken by them.
• MILSET agrees to identify the photo’s author in its publications.

By submitting a photo to the MILSET STEAM Photo Contest, contestants agree to abide by the competition’s official rules and acknowledge that all decisions and management operations taken by the organizers, including eligibility, are final and cannot be appealed.
