The World Invention Competition and Exhibition (WICE) 2026 celebrated its eighth edition, bringing together hundreds of young researchers, students, and innovators from different parts of the world for another international gathering focused on science, technology, creativity, and the development of solutions to current global challenges.

Organized by the Indonesian Young Scientist Association (IYSA) in collaboration with SEGi University & Colleges, WICE 2026 was held throughout September in a hybrid format, allowing teams to participate both in person and remotely.

A total of 517 teams took part in the 2026 edition, with 243 participating on site in Malaysia and 274 joining online. This format strengthened the international reach of the competition and created greater opportunities for students from different regions to become part of the event.

International diversity was one of the main highlights of this edition. WICE 2026 welcomed representatives from 12 countries: Indonesia, Malaysia, Hong Kong, Thailand, Mexico, South Korea, Belarus, China, Canada, Uzbekistan, Vietnam, and Bangladesh.

Young participants presented projects in a wide range of fields, including Applied Life Sciences, Innovative Social Sciences, Applied Physics and Engineering, Environmental Sciences, and Information Technology and Robotics. These categories showcased projects related to technology, the environment, engineering, health, social sciences, automation, and new digital applications.

Beyond the competition itself, WICE offers participants an opportunity to exchange experiences, discover projects developed in other countries, and strengthen important skills in research, project presentation, and scientific communication.

The participation of hundreds of teams and international delegations once again positioned WICE as a meeting point for students interested in transforming ideas into projects with the potential to create a positive impact in their communities.

Events such as WICE also contribute to strengthening international collaboration among educational organizations, academic institutions, and scientific communities, while encouraging cultural exchange and inspiring new generations to become more involved in science and innovation.

MILSET congratulates the Indonesian Young Scientist Association (IYSA) on the successful organization of WICE 2026 and especially recognizes the leadership of Deni Irawan, as well as the commitment of the entire organizing team, volunteers, institutions, and collaborators who made this international edition possible.
